Exploring Downtown Hollywood

Since it was a nice cool night --- Lulu, Ernie, Ciony and I decided that we drive down to Hollywood and visit the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Grauman's Chinese Theater and Kodak Theater ( where they hold the OSCARS every year ). Come with me and follow my little tour downtown Hollywood...

GRAUMAN'S CHINESE THEATER...

Grauman's Chinese Theater is located along the historic Hollywood Walk of Fame. It has been home to many premieres. Among the theater's most distinctive features are the concrete blocks set in the foreground which bears signatures and footprints of popular motion picture personalities from the 1920's to the present day. Here are some of them.

HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME......

Michael Jackson's STAR was filled with flowers from his fans...

Marilyn Monroe...

Shirley Temple....

Yul Brynner and Deborah Kerr...

Jack Lemmon and Shirley Mac Laine..

Right beside it was the WAX MUSEUM OF MADAME TUSSAUDS.

Outside the Museum were wax figures for people to have their souvenir photos taken ..

Marilyn Monroe..

The lovable SHREK..

Samuel Jackson..

It was almost closing time when we got there so --- we decided not to visit the museum but scheduled a tour for another day.

THE KODAK THEATER..

Located next to Grauman's Chinese Theater, the Kodak Theater is part of the Hollywood  & Highland Center retail, dining and entertainment complex. The theater itself opened in 2001.

THE HOLLYWOOD & HIGHLAND CENTER...

You can take the escalator up to the Babylon Courtyard, but then you won't get a chance to admire how the architects managed to frame a view of the Hollywood Sign as you ascend the center of the staircase. The Courtyard itself looks like a Hollywood set with giant elephant sculptures perched high above the three-level ring of shops.

Hope you liked the little tour around downtown hollywood... See you around!! CIAO!
