A different kind of ART

I went to the TOTALLY ARTISTIC ART FAIRE at the Warner Center Park in Woodland Hills yesterday... It was also the art exhibit of Ernie G. Kamatoy, a very good friend of mine, showcasing his artwork ( again ) after a long absence from the ART SCENE.

There were at least 40 booths --- each with a different kind of art... This was indeed another experience for me... seeing " one-of-a-kind masterpieces " of young budding artists here in California.  I was very fortunate to have talked to some of these artists and they gladly shared their tips on their works. The youngest artist was Emma Mae, a 9 year old girl, who has been painting since she was 5 years old.

I would like to share with you the art pieces I liked and I even have some photos of the artists with their masterpieces..

** ABBEY AVILA

** MICHAEL DE MEDINA - is a sculptor and a tinsmith. This is his METAL ART. In the photo below he told me -- he used the nose of the airplane and he individually hammered each little square. His sculpture is called " GOD'S UNIVERSE ".  This was the most expensive article at the show.

** STEPHEN ROMIO -- he does figurative paintings and portrait commissions

** ERNIE G. KAMATOY    ----- contemporary/ abstract artist and the ONLY Filipino in the group of artists.

** EMMA MAE - the youngest artist in the group. She is barely 9 years old and has been painting since she was 5 years old.

** DIANA HUTH - This was the one I liked the most.. She turns her photography into works of  ART..

** IT'S A WORK OF ART - he has a collection of sculptures and fine art pieces created with a variety of textures such as Mother of Pearl or Abalone. All these photos I have posted here are made out of WOOD and then he applies 18 coats of lacquer to get this kind of effect. I thought it was made of resin.. All his works are done by hand and according to the artist it takes almost 3 months to make one of these creations of art.

....... what is your favorite art piece??
